What Makes Sleepout® Blackout Different?

Sleepout® Blackout Fabric is certified safe and blocks 100% of light.

Other so-called "blackout" fabrics usually only block 70-80% of light or use a chemical film that off-gasses chemical odors when in direct sunlight.

  • Easily adjusts to fit different sized windows.

    Each Sleepout Portable panel is 52” x 76”. Thanks to our patented suction cup design, you can easily adjust to fit larger or smaller windows.

  • Single Pane Windows

    Two suction cups in the top corners, and you're all set! The cups are sloped towards the windowframe at the top to prevent light gaps.

  • Double Pane & Sliding Windows

    We recommend purchasing an extra pair of suction cups to keep the curtain tight to the glass around the middle windowpane.

  • Wide Windows

    The Sleepout Curtain installs horiztonally or vertically. Two cups will work — or for extra large windows, an extra cup in the middle will help provide extra support or combine two Sleepout panels.

  • Bay Windows & Shapes

    Sleepout works on bay windows & round windows, too! We recommend extra suction cups to keep the curtain tight to the glass.

  • French Doors & Glass Doors

    Our suction cups work on more than windows! Ensure you are trying to attach the suction cups to a smooth, non-porous surface and Sleepout can help block light from wherever it comes in!

I was intimidated but agreed to purchase these . So easy to install and take down . Didn’t want a permanent set but only needed when my grandchild was visiting . They were the perfect solution.

Excellent Black Out Curtains

Ordered these to black out my bedroom window because it faces east, The morning light would always wake me up well in advance of my alarm. Plus, at night the ambient light from the surrounding buildings would bleed through and keep me awake. With the Black Out Curtain installed, I have almost complete darkness. It is supper easy to install / hang up. Attach the two suction cups to the upper corners and hang the curtain and you’re good to go! Highly recommend of you like to sleep in darkness.

How does it work?

Sleepout Portable uses patented locking suction technology that allows it to stay up on any window as long as you want.

The suction cups attach anywhere along the top of the curtain, allowing you to find the perfect fit, and comes with clever material along the perimeter to lie flush with your window and seal out the light that would usually come in from around the sides.

We use the highest-quality 100% blackout fabric that is lightweight, easy to install and easy to adjust.

Is it machine washable?

You bet! No worries about thrills, spills, or anything else. Life happens! Sleepout is easy to care for. 

Machine wash on delicate cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Machine dry on delicate cycle or hang to dry with the lighter side up on a rounded line.

How do I travel with Sleepout Portable?

That's the fun part! Most sleep products are great for home use - Sleepout is too! - but unfortunately you can't bring your mattress with you to your grandma's. 

Sleepout folds up to be the size of a paperback book. Plus it comes with a handy carrying bag! The kit weighs less than 2 lbs, so it's as easy to pack as your favourite t-shirt.

Can I install them vertically and horizontally?

Yep! There are fastener strips on the long and short ends so you can install the Sleepout Portable both ways.

Does it work with Blinds?

Yes! Simply install the Sleepout Portable behind your blinds, between the blinds and the glass of your window to totally block out any light.
